Parent Resources offers lots of information and links for local and national groups for breastfeeding and parenting.
Dr. Kangos, Linda and Katie enjoy meeting face-to-face in a private setting with expecting mothers and fathers. Any areas of interest are welcome for discussion. They include breast feeding, sleeping, traveling, immunizations, after hours calls, illnesses in the community, your prior experience with pediatricians....or why we went into pediatrics! We appreciate parents that research our practice.
Specific concerns about your pregnancy or family history can be discussed along with what to expect after delivery. Whether you deliver in the hospital, birthing center or in the peace and comfort of your own home, we are respectful and interested in your views on birthing and child-rearing. Our enjoyment in practice is based on collaboration, learning and guidance. Please see Our Philosophy
Discussion topics can include the following:
- The first 3 weeks of life is considered the newborn period. This is a very special time for us to focus on feeding and general care.
- The first office visit will be 2-3 days after discharge from the hospital. 3-4 days later another visit is important to make sure what we discussed previously is going well.
- Birthing Centers are an excellent source of care for many families and provide care and support for 1-6 weeks after birth.
- We encourage breastfeeding for as long as possible for all mothers. We take the time necessary to address your concerns to secure a long and successful breastfeeding experience.
