Peter Kangos, MD

Since establishing “Kangos Pediatrics” in 1989, Dr. Kangos has dedicated his professional career to providing excellent and personal care in a convenient, small office. He has maintained his board certification since 1984.
His interests include all areas of general pediatrics, and in particular, infant development, breast feeding, adolescence, and ADD/ADHD.
Dr. Kangos graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Behavior from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. His most memorable events from college were his close association with the faculty and participation in outdoor activities, namely bicycling and canoeing. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He completed both his internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. His best experiences at Cincinnati were benefiting from training with top level pediatric faculty and sharing responsibility with other physicians in an exceptional, nationally ranked Children’s Hospital.
His professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, Texas Pediatric Society, Pediatric Physician Alliance, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society.
Dr. Kangos’ civic involvement has included working with the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, distribution of food to the homeless, and active membership in the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church. Besides spending time with his six children and son-in-law, Peter enjoys hiking, swimming, golfing and studying the Greek language.
Linda J. Kangos, CPNP

Mrs. Kangos joined Kangos Pediatrics in 1995. The practice grew substantially in large part to her delightful, caring communicative style and prior independent practice experience. Her experience includes multiple leadership positions, as well as supporting numerous preventative health care programs. She originally came to Austin in 1991 to teach at the University of Texas Pediatric Nurse Practitioner master’s program. Linda’s areas of interest include infant and child development and nutrition.
Linda received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her Master of Science degree in nursing and pediatric nurse practitioner training from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
She served as a clinical instructor of graduate programs for nursing students at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Linda is an active member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners.
Aside from caring for the Kangoses six children, Linda enjoys walking, hiking and developing health-conscious recipes for her family.
Bridget Shen, CPNP
We are very happy to welcome Bridget Shen, pediatric nurse practitioner, to Kangos Pediatrics. Bridget comes with a background of excellent training and experience. She fits into our practice style extremely well and has been well received by all our patients. Her straightforward, caring approach and orientation toward follow-up and continuity of care is evident in her interactions with families.
Bridget enjoys fully explaining her view of the problem at hand and helping parents arrive at the most reasonable treatment options. Of note, she has a special interest in helping parents of children who have developed “picky” eating habits; she enjoys helping families through these rather challenging circumstances!
Bridget received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Texas in Austin and her Master of Science degree in nursing and pediatric nurse practitioner training from the Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas. She is a member of the Central Texas Alliance of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
Her experience includes working as a pediatric R.N. for 6 years before pursuing her advanced pediatric nurse practitioner training. This nursing experience provides a big advantage for subsequent masters training as a nurse practitioner. After her training and prior to joining Kangos Pediatrics, Bridget practiced as a nurse practitioner for 5 years in office-based pediatrics.
In addition to caring for her busy toddler Livia, Bridget enjoys reading, traveling, and visiting out-of-town family.
