Since establishing “Kangos Pediatrics” in 1989, Dr. Kangos has dedicated his professional career to providing excellent and personal pediatric care in a small and convenient office. He has maintained his board certification since 1984.


His interests include all areas of general pediatrics. Particular areas of interest include nutrition, conservative approaches to care, parenting, breast feeding, allergy and asthma, adolescence and ADD/ADHD.

Dr. Kangos graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Behavior from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. His most memorable events from college were his close association with the faculty and participation in outdoor activities, namely bicycling and canoeing. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He completed both his internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. His best experiences at Cincinnati were benefiting from training with a top level pediatric faculty and sharing responsibility with other physicians in an exceptional, nationally ranked Children’s Hospital.

His professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, Texas Pediatric Society, Pediatric Physician Alliance, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society.

Dr. Kangos’ civic involvement has included working with the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, distribution of food to the homeless, and being an active membership in the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church. Besides spending time with his six children and sons-in-law, Peter enjoys studying early US history, hiking and playing basketball with his son.

About Pediatric Nurse Practitioners

Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (CPNP) are highly trained pediatric health professionals who take the time to listen to you and your family’s concerns. Linda can help you understand health problems your child may be facing and provide advice on methods for disease prevention. LInda has both a bachelor and a master of science degree in nursing.  Having a nursing background provides families with a holistic approach to healthcare.  Linda is board certified in pediatrics and trained in child development, health promotion, disease prevention,and the management of common pediatric illnesses. Her background and perspective complements that of Dr. Kangos.

Nurse Practitioner’s Role at Kangos Pediatrics

Linda works closely with Dr. Kangos and is board certified in pediatrics and qualified to administer physical examinations, treatments and many procedures. In collaboration with Dr. Kangos, Linda provides comprehensive care to children in the practice. Breast feeding support, health risk evaluation and education are emphasized. Linda enjoys taking the extra time necessary to lend support in these important areas of concern throughout childhood. This is one way that Kangos Pediatrics attempts to provide the best possible care.

Linda Kangos, CPNP

Mrs. Linda Kangos joined Kangos Pediatrics in 1995 as a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. The Austin pediatric practice grew substantially in large part to her caring, communicative style and prior independent practice experience. Her experience includes multiple leadership positions as well as supporting numerous preventative health care programs. She originally came to Austin in 1991 to teach at the University of Texas Pediatric Nurse Practitioner master’s program. Linda’s areas of interest include infant and child development and nutrition.

Linda received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her Master of Science degree in nursing and pediatric nurse practitioner training from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

She served as a clinical instructor of graduate programs for nursing students at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Linda is an active member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners.

With 5 daughters now in college and beyond, Linda enjoys raising the Kangos’ school-age son. Her hobbies include walking, hiking and developing health-conscious recipes for the family.
